CHICAGO – Today, Representatives Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04) and Delia C. Ramirez (IL-03) joined more than a dozen community and immigration organizations in Chicago to reflect on the work achieved to protect the communities from anti-immigrant raids while identifying ways to strengthen the collective response.

CHICAGO – El congresista Jesús "Chuy" García (IL-04) emitió la siguiente declaración en respuesta a los informes de actividad de ICE en la escuela primaria Hamline: 

“Nuestras escuelas deben seguir siendo un refugio seguro donde los niños, las familias y el personal puedan ir y venir sin temor a la intimidación de ICE. Estos lugares de aprendizaje a menudo sirven como un segundo hogar para los estudiantes, y nunca deben convertirse en motivo de ansiedad o angustia, especialmente para nuestros niños. 

CHICAGO – Congressman Jesús "Chuy" García (IL-04) issued the following statement in response to reports of ICE activity at Hamline Elementary:

“Our schools must remain a safe haven where children, families, and staff can come and go without fear of intimidation from ICE. These places of learning often serve as a second home to students, and they should never become grounds for anxiety or distress, especially for our children.

WASHINGTON, D.C.— El Congresista Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04), se unió hoy a sus colegas del Caucus Progresista del Congreso (CPC), el Presidente Greg Casar (TX-35), la Vicepresidenta Ilhan Omar (MN-05), los Representantes Chris Deluzio (PA-17), Luz Rivas (CA-29), Melanie Stansbury (NM-01) y Yassamin Ansari (AZ-03) para criticar las órdenes ejecutivas de Trump.
