*Due to COVID-19, our Summer 2021 internship will be virtual. Interns will be issued necessary technology for remote purposes.*
Congressional interns will have the opportunity to serve in a wide range of capacities including but not limited to:
Managing phone calls
Attending briefings and hearings
Assisting with constituent casework
Assisting and planning events
Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to specialize in legislative or communications related assignments depending on their interests. Our internships program is designed to be a learning experience in which you are exposed to a variety of areas including constituent services, scheduling, office administration, press and communications, and legislative policy.
Our office is committed to building a team with diverse lived and professional experience that well equips our team to serve the Illinois 4th District. Candidates are encouraged to apply and describe in their cover letter how their experience translates to the needs of the office and the role. Ties to IL04 are considered but not required. While we are happy to sponsor course credit when available, enrollment in a higher education institution is not required.
