WASHINGTON, D.C. — Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04) released the following statement after voting for H.R. 10545, the American Relief Act, a continuing resolution (CR) that extends government funding, passes critical disaster assistance, and reauthorizes farm and nutrition programs:

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Representatives Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04) and Raúl M. Grijalva (AZ-07) sent a letter to Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, Chief Information Officer Eric Hysen, and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Director Shalanda Young regarding the lack of transparency in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its subagencies.
