Washington, DC— Congressman Jesús "Chuy" García (IL-04) spoke on the floor of the House of Representatives this morning in support of H.Res. 1153, a congressional resolution condemning unwanted, unnecessary medical procedures on individuals without their full informed consent. This resolution addresses whistleblower allegations of mass hysterectomies being performed on women detained at the privately-run Irwin County Detention Center in Ocilla, Ga.

Chicago, IL - Today, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that sexual orientation and gender identity are protected characteristics under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits sex discrimination in employment.
