“Title 42 was a racist Trump policy designed to restrict asylum rights using public health as an excuse, part of a decades-long process of removing legal pathways to migration and militarizing our border. Even though the implementation of Title 42 was a mistake, its end presents its own set of challenges.

Happy Sesquicentennial, Hinsdale!
For those who don’t know me, I’m your new U.S. congressman, Jesús “Chuy” García. With new congressional districts in Illinois and across the country this year following the 2020 census, Illinois’ 4th District now includes Hinsdale and many other municipalities in the western suburbs of DuPage and Cook counties as well as the southwest side of Chicago.

The mood was unusually jovial at Tuesday night's Hinsdale Village Board meeting.
"Thank you all for coming," Village President Tom Cauley told the crowd. "Usually when we have this many people in the room it's not a good thing."
The village's first official 150th anniversary celebration brought out everyone from residents to former trustees to a U.S. congressman.
CHICAGO – Today Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04) held an event to present the record $27 million in Community Project Funding secured for his district for Fiscal Year 2023. The Congressman was joined by community leaders, local elected officials, and government entities receiving project funds. The event was held at the National Museum of Mexican Art. Elected officials in attendance included: Cook County Commissioner Alma Anaya, Northlake Mayor Jeffrey Sherwin, and Berwyn Alderman Scott Lennon.
CHICAGO— Today, Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García announced his appointment as Deputy Whip of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
“Our work is urgent, and our mission is clear. The Progressive Caucus is writing the policy for a more equitable and sustainable future. I’ve spent my career building coalitions, and I look forward to continuing that work in this position to build the power we need to deliver for working people,” said Congressman García.
