Vision

The vision of the Office of U.S. Representative Jesús G. “Chuy” García is to serve all of the people of the 4th Congressional District of Illinois and improve community conditions through the pursuit of social, civic, racial, and economic justice for all rooted in progressive values. To that end, the mission of the office is to ensure the advancement of our diverse communities by securing resources, services and programs through progressive legislation, casework, outreach, and communications.

About the Congressman

In 2019, U.S. Representative Jesús G. “Chuy” García became the first Mexican Americanfrom the Midwest to serve in Congress. Throughout his time in public service he's been a progressive voice fighting to improve conditions for immigrant and working-families through equitable access to quality education, affordable housing, and economic opportunity. Drawing on his history working with Mayor Harold Washington and Rudy Lozano, he is a coalition builder committed to empowering the next generation of progressive leaders. Currently, he serves on the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, and is Deputy Whip of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.
