Washington, DC — Congressman Jesús "Chuy" García (IL-04) issued the following statement after voting to impeach President Donald J. Trump for a second time:

"One week ago, President Trump incited an insurrection at the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 Presidential Election.

"The attack was no accident. For months, President Trump spread vicious lies and conspiracies about the legitimacy of our elections. When that did not work, he called on his supporters to violently storm the Capitol and subvert the will of the people.
