U.S. Congressman Jesus Garcia on Monday condemned the Israeli killing of a Turkish-American activist in the occupied West Bank, calling for an independent investigation into the incident.

“I strongly condemn the killing of Aysenur (Ezgi) Eygi, an American citizen protesting illegal Israeli occupation in the West Bank, and support her family’s call for an independent investigation into her death,” Garcia wrote on social media platform X.

–Congressman Jesus "Chuy" Garcia (IL-04) is back from leading a congressional delegation to Bogotá for the Panamerican Congress in Colombia.  The organization focuses on "hemispheric cooperation, democracy and the climate crisis." In a statement, Garcia said he's concerned about an "increasingly coordinated group of right-wing politicians, who use election denial, lawfare and repression to consolidate their power." Congresswoman Delia Ramirez (IL-03) also attended the event.
