Washington, D.C. – Today, Representatives Jesús "Chuy" García (D-Ill.), Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.), and U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) applauded the Federal Reserve's decision to move forward on building a real-time payments system. Currently, Americans lose billions of dollars each year in overdraft fees, driving consumers to turn to more costly financial products because of our inefficient payments system.

Washington, D.C. – Last week Representatives Jesús "Chuy" García (IL-04) and Barbara Lee (CA-13), joined by 40 Democratic Members, sent a letter to the Department of Justice raising grave concerns about its plan to end the use of in-court interpreters for undocumented immigrants appearing in their first deportation hearings, and instead, use pre-recorded videos.
