WASHINGTON, DC-- This week Congressmen Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04) and Steve Cohen (TN-09) and Senators Edward J. Markey (D-Massachusetts) and Richard Blumenthal (D-Connecticut) reintroduced the Forbidding Airlines from Imposing Ridiculous (FAIR) Fees Act. This bicameral legislation would prohibit airlines from charging fees – including bag, seating, cancellation, and change fees – that are not reasonable or proportional to the costs of the services actually provided.

CHICAGO, IL– Today Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García joined PODER, a non-profit organization that works with the Spanish-speaking immigrant community in Chicago, at the opening of its new headquarters. This will be the first immigrant integration and job center in Gage Park. Congressman García helped secure $500,000 in community project funding as part of the year-end government spending package for the PODER Headquarters.
