WASHINGTON, D.C.—Today Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García joined immigration advocates, business leaders and community members in Washington to call on President Biden to take immediate action to expand parole, work permits, Temporary Protected Status (TPS) and Deferred Enforced Departure (DED) for migrants.

Immigrants who have been in the U.S. for years rally asking for work permits for people in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals and Temporary Protected Status programs at Franklin Park in Washington.
"We recognize that immigration reform has eluded Congress for 36 years," Garcia said at the rally, reminding the crowd he is the son of braceros.
