During the August District Work Period, Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García (IL-04) will partner with Illinois Senator Celina Villanueva, State Representatives Aarón Ortiz and Norma Hernández, Cook County Commissioners Alma Anaya and Frank Aguilar, Chicago Alderpeople Michael D.

–Congressman Jesus "Chuy" Garcia (IL-04) is back from leading a congressional delegation to Bogotá for the Panamerican Congress in Colombia.  The organization focuses on "hemispheric cooperation, democracy and the climate crisis." In a statement, Garcia said he's concerned about an "increasingly coordinated group of right-wing politicians, who use election denial, lawfare and repression to consolidate their power." Congresswoman Delia Ramirez (IL-03) also attended the event.

Following a July audit on the Berkeley Environmental Health Division’s failure to meet food safety inspection targets, Tuesday’s Berkeley City Council meeting reviewed the audit alongside discussions to amend the Renewing Immigration Provisions of the Immigration Act of 1929, or the Registry Bill.
