Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representatives Jesús "Chuy" García (IL-04) and Mike Quigley (IL-05); introduced a measure to create a new grant program in support of Park Districts. The proposal was introduced as an amendment to H.R. 2, the Moving Forward Act, House Democrat’s $1.5 trillion proposal to rebuild America’s infrastructure.

Chicago, IL - Today, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that sexual orientation and gender identity are protected characteristics under the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits sex discrimination in employment. The case is Bostock v. Clayton County, Georgia.
Chicago, IL. - Maria Whelan, President and CEO of Illinois Action for Children passed away suddenly on June 10th. Maria was an authority in the early child care and education field. Throughout her career, Whelan developed a legacy as a fighter for child care assistance programs for working parents in Illinois.
