"No one, including the President, is above the law. The fundamental integrity of our democracy is at stake.
"This morning, Special Counsel Mueller repeated in no uncertain terms: The President has obstructed justice; the Mueller Report did not clear the President of any crimes; and it is the job of Congress to hold the President accountable.

Washington, DC– Today, Congressman Jesús "Chuy" García (IL-04) joined Members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus at a press conference to denounce the inhumane treatment that has led to the death of another child under custody of the Department of Homeland Security. The latest victim, a 16-year-old Guatemalan immigrant, had been detained for seven days in Weslaco, Texas. Congressman García issued the following statement:
Washington, DC- At a hearing of the Financial Services Committee today, Congressman "Chuy" García (IL-04) called on Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Ben Carson to support H.R. 1690, the Safe Housing for Families Act, which would make carbon monoxide (CO) detectors mandatory in public housing units subsidized by HUD.
