Congressman Jesús “Chuy” García’s Statement on Trump Veto of Emergency Declaration Resolution

Chicago, IL- Congressman Jesús "Chuy" García issued this statement in response to President Trump's veto of H.J.Res. 46, the resolution terminating his unlawful emergency declaration:

"The President's veto of the resolution terminating his Emergency Declaration is another act of defiance against the Constitution of the United States of America. Our country does not need an ineffective and wasteful wall. What we need is to fix our broken immigration system. I will vote to override this veto."

Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced today that on March 26, the House of Representatives will be holding a vote to override the President's veto.
